In 1878, Snowflake was established by William J. Flake and Erastus Snow, along with other Mormon pioneers and colonizers, when Mormon Prophet Brigham Young called for families to leave their Utah homes. Despite its name, this pioneer town experiences very little snow. If you’re interested in diving into Snowflake’s unique history, visitors can experience Snowflake’s Historic Homes Walking Tour and learn about the 26 homes listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Visit Pintail Lake

Pintail Lake is located within the Allen Severson Wildlife Park and was created using ​​recycled wastewater to improve waterfowl nesting, feeding, and resting habitat. Visitors can observe water flow and wildlife, such as bald eagles, snow egrets, and osprey. The lake is paved with information plaques detailing wetland information. Visitors and locals can enjoy free admission to the park and the lake.

Play at Snowflake Municipal Golf Course

Only leave Snowflake once you’ve had the chance to play a round at the Snowflake Municipal Golf Course. This 27-hole golf course offers players an 18-hole, par 72 course, and a 9-hole, par 36 course. Snowflake Municipal Golf Course is open year-round and rarely closes, even when it’s snowing.
